Wantage Town paid the price for a poor defensive display as they were beaten in Southern League Division 1 South & West.

The hosts were behind after just two minutes when Swindon Supermarine skipper Ross Adams headed a corner past Gareth Tucker.

Luke Hopper increased Supermarine’s lead on the half-hour, and Wantage were 3-0 down when Adams headed home his second goal early in the second half.

Wantage scored twice in the space of three minutes, with Jimmy Deabill heading in a corner, before substitute Richie Guy blasted home.

But Kyle Lapham’s 30-yard drive sealed victory for Supermarine.
