FOOTBALL: Harding the hero as ten-man Ardley are held

Ardley United keeper Jack Harding saved a Lewis Brownhill penalty as the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division leaders drew 0-0 at Kidlington with both sides reduced to ten men.
Kidlington’s Jack Quainton went for a second booking, while Ardley’s Harry Brock was handed a straight red for kicking a rival.
Second-placed Wantage Town cut the gap on Ardley to four points with a 3-0 win at Thame United.
Second-half goals from Richie Claydon, Matt Pedder and Harry Halls sealed it for Wantage.
Shrivenham lost 2-1 at home to Wooton Bassett Town, for whom Tyler Sheppard and Levi Cox netted. Dan Drewett replied. Abingdon United went down 5-2 at home to Newbury despite goals from Kevin Rookes and John Dent.
Michael Miller, Sam Connors, Bradley Shaw, Sam Hamilton and Jordan Farr scored for Newbury.
Division 1 East leaders AFC Hinksey stormed to a 6-3 win at Finchampstead.
John McMahon (2), Ryan Curtin, Anaclet Odhiambo, Jack Dunmall and Joseph Marley were on target, with Kylo Atkinson, James Pople and Harry Swabey replying.
Milton United went third after beating Headington Amateurs 5-1, with goals from Chris Brind (2), Adam Bruce, Jason McCabe and Ben Taylor.
Paul Hedger hit back. Didcot Town Res saw off Rayners Lane 3-1 at home, Ross McDonald (2) and Taylor Janes on target. Reece Chaudry replied.
Andrew Stidder scored twice including an injury-time penalty leveller as Easington Sports drew 2-2 at Division 1 West leaders Tytherington Rocks.
Joe White and Alex Chapman had put the hosts 2-0 up. North Leigh Res won 2-1 at Shortwood United, with Craig Wood and George Seacole on target. Will Hawes replied.
Clanfield lost 4-0 at Fairford Town, with Cameron McLarty, Nathan Gambling, Henry Traas and Dan Bailey scoring.
Hook Norton lost 2-0 at Purton, Marcus Hall (pen) and Blaine Fitzgerald on the mark. Carterton beat Lydney Town 2-1, thanks to a Dan Bishop strike and an own goal.
Dan Clarke replied. Old Woodstock Town lost 1-0 to Malmesbury Victoria, Mani Roper hitting the only goal.
