Autotype UTV League Premier Division outfit AFC Hinksey were given a fright by Division 3A side Railway Wheatley in the OFA Sam Waters Cup before edging into the quarter-finals 3-2.
Tom Williams put the underdogs a goal up, Anaclet Odhiambo levelling just before the break. Hinksey looked home and dry as Marlon James and a penalty from player-manager Gavin Preston made it 3-1, but a late strike from Darren Layman created a mini-panic.
A solitary strike from Shane Currell wasn’t enough for Cross Keys Wallingford, who went out of the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup in the fourth round with a 2-1 reverse at Barton Rovers.
Saxton Pirates cruised into round four of the Berks & Bucks Junior Trophy after a 5-1 home win against Parklife Rangers.
Jamie Gaff struck twice, with Kev Secker, Tom Butler and Luke McIntosh completing their safe passage. McIntosh also missed a penalty.
Abingdon Exiles are also through after they disposed of Bantam 3-2 at home.
Russ Madeley, Steve Hook and Chris Parsons were on target, but a late penalty and an own goal had Exiles holding on at the end.
