A DEAL to keep Charlie Raglan on loan at Oxford United from Chesterfield is due to be completed over the weekend.
The U's are also due to receive an answer next week from West Bromwich Albion about extending Tyler Roberts's stay.
Both players' deals are due to expire after Monday's visit to Gillingham, but head coach Michael Appleton has been keen to retain them.
He said: "We've sorted the paperwork out for Charlie Raglan, so if that's not signed yet it should be tomorrow (Sunday) for him to continue until the end of the season.
"We're expecting a decision from West Brom on Tuesday (about Roberts)."
Raglan's new deal would allow the centre back to feature in the Emirates FA Cup next weekend at Rotherham United, something the Spireites did not give permission to do in the first and second round.
The U's are chasing a variety of other targets, with a specific focus on bolstering the squad's attacking unit, but nothing is imminent.
