TOWER Hill Ladies’ unbeaten start to the season was ended emphatically as they were beaten 6-2 at Team Solent in Southern Region Women’s League Division 1.
Despite starting the match with ten players, Solent dominated possession and raced into a 2-0 lead inside the opening eight minutes.
Sarah Snowdon pulled a goal back on 17 minutes and Tower Hill thought they had levelled when Lisa Freeman netted, only for it to be ruled out for offside.
Solent hit back after the scare and scored two quick goals to lead 4-1 at half-time.
The advantage was stretched with two goals in three minutes midway through the second half to make sure of the points.
Sarah Coles reduced the deficit, before the West Oxfordshire visitors had another goal disallowed for offside, this time from Lauren Major.
New Forest Ladies are the visitors this Sunday (2pm) for what will be Tower Hill’s first home game of the campaign.
