THE chance to end Oxford United’s unbeaten away run has given Wycombe Wanderers added incentive for tomorrow’s clash at Adams Park.

Chris Wilder’s men are the only professional side in the country yet to taste a league defeat this season, winning six and drawing four on their travels in Sky Bet League Two.

Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth is hoping to put an end to the run, which would also come as a much-needed boost to his side, who have won once in the last ten games.

He said: “There’s a couple of records that can go.

“They haven’t lost and we haven't won for so long, so it would be nice to put both of those to bed.”

The stakes are high for the home side, who drew the reverse fixture 2-2 and won 1-0 at the Kassam Stadium last April.

Ainsworth said: “Oxford against Wycombe is always a big game.

“Last year the away game was the one that secured our safety and people remember that fondly.

“It hit home what it means to the fans to win this one.

“I want the players to wear the jersey with pride and drive for this one and go back to what we know.”

The Chairboys manager rates United highly and believes they will stay at the sharp end of the table.

He said: “It's about getting a home win and it would be great to do it against Oxford.

“It’s not surprising they are high up in the league, the only surprise is they’ve fallen away a bit.

“It’s a hugely competitive league and I’m sure they will be finishing in the top half of the league.”
