SCHOOLS' FOOTBALL
BRITTANY Egden, who attends Marlborough School at Woodstock, has had her place confirmed in the England Schools’ Under 15 girls’ squad.
The 14-year-old, from Yarnton, was due to play for an England Schools’ FA XI against Stafford FA at Stafford Town on Sunday, but the match was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
However, the teenager, who plays for Oxford United girls and Oxfordshire Schools, has now been selected for the England squad, which will fly to Barcelona for a training camp from February 17 to 21.
During their stay, they will train at the Catalan Football Federation, and are due to play two games against Spanish teams.
The England squad are using the trip as preparation for international matches in the Bob Docherty Cup and the Lloyds TSB Cup.
Meanwhile, Egden will be hoping to help Oxfordshire beat Dorset in the ESFA Under 16 Inter County Trophy first round at Chapel Gate, Christchurch, on Saturday.
