Didcot Town joint boss Ian Concannon feels the signing of Tom Franklin could help propel them up the table.
The former North Leigh and Abingdon United centre back, who has signed from AFC Hinksey, goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s Calor League Division 1 South & West trip to Swindon Supermarine.
“He’s only in his early 20s, but he’s got a lot of Southern League experience,” said Concannon.
“He will make us nice and strong at the back. In Tom and  Luke Carnell, you won’t get a better centre-half pairing.”
Concannon says he is looking to build on Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Mangotsfield.
He added: “It was a very good result for us and we’ll be looking for a similar performance  at Supermarine.”
Didcot could give a debut to Reading academy midfielder  Germaine Ofori, 18, after signing him on work experience.
Pablo Haysham and Kameron Abbassi (both banned), while Lance Williams (thigh) has a late test.
North Leigh host Fleet Town, aiming to avoid a third straight league defeat.
Banbury United manager Edwin Stein has praised the contribution of Claudio Dias to his Premier Division side ahead of the trip to Chesham.
The loan signing from Northampton made his bow in the 4-2 midweek loss at Corby.
“He came on and did well,” said Stein. “He charged from the half-way line and beat a couple of players.
“I think he was trying so hard to impress that he shot for goal instead of squaring it for Kynan Isaac. But that’s something he can learn from.”
Stein was surprised the game was allowed to go on despite poor weather.
“There were puddles all over the pitch. The ball just stopped in the water when anyone tried to pass it,” added Stein.
