WOMEN'S FOOTBALL
OXFORD United Ladies are celebrating a fourth successive Oxfordshire Cup triumph.
The U’s defeated Oxford City 3-0 in the final at Thame United’s ASM Stadium.
Charlotte Clarke put United ahead in the first half before Katie Stanley and Tasha Caswell’s header sealed it.
“It was a good game and nice to lift the cup again,” said U’s manager Richard Blackmore.
“That is four seasons in a row, but credit to City who made it really tough.
“I think that shows the strength of the ladies' game in Oxfordshire as a whole.
“We had chances to win the game more comfortably, but overall this was another very good performance.”
United visit Plymouth on Sunday as they look to keep up the pressure on Keynsham at the top of the South West Combination.
The U’s are five points adrift, but with a game in hand.
