Two players hit four-timers as Red Lion Islip won 6-5 in a Critchleys Upper Thames Valley League Division 1 clash switched to their ground from Didcot Casuals, writes TIM SIRET.

Jimmy Deabill’s four-goal salvo for Red Lion was matched by Didcot’s Andy Taylor.

Red Lion had fallen a goal behind, before having Carl Bowen sent off, seeing Adam Wells miss a penalty, and then conceding two more goals.

Veteran defender Carl Hibbins grabbed a late winner for Red Lion, whose other goal came from John Webb, while Richard Jepson made up Didcot’s tally.

Brightwell FC reversed their home fixture with AFC Crowmarsh as their pitch was unplay-able, and scrambled to a 1-1 draw, which put them top.

Will Clements fired Crowmarsh into a half-time lead, but a fine team move enabled hot-shot Andy Gibbons to grab a point.

Premier League side Kidlington Royals eased into the Hedley Toms/Michael Brown semi-finals with a 6-0 home win over Division 1 high-fliers Railway Wheatley.

The visitors were derailed when Anaclet Odhiambo and Ryan Curtin grabbed doubles. Dan Sherbourne and Jelroy Constant completed the comfortable victory.

Woodstock Wanderers staved off a determined fightback by ten-man visitors AFC Brightwell to spring a 4-2 surprise in a pulsating Ridgeway Cup quarter-final.

On a quagmire of a pitch, Division 3 leaders Woodstock looked like cruising home when they took a 2-0 lead in the first nine minutes through Lewis Charlett and David Bray’s ferocious free-kick.

Steve Foreman added a third for Wanderers before the break.

But Brightwell, who were a player short from the start, rallied in the second half after Woodstock striker Ryan Thorne had been sent off for two yellow cards.

Jack McLaughlin pulled a goal back, but Wanderers replied imm-ediately through Simon Bray.

McLaughlin scored again and Brightwell’s hopes were finally dashed when midfielder Martin White was sent off, leaving them with nine.

Green Tree Wallingford came back from two goals down at half-time to win 3-2 at JET in Division 3.

A Chris Hoy spot-kick and a strike from Aaron Aquilina put JET in charge at the break.

But second-half goals from Chris Swales, Scott Green and Martin Dawson earned Green Tree victory.
