WES Bartlett (75) and Andy Buckingham (72) shared a third-wicket stand of 142 to steer Oxford Downs to a five-wicket win at Horspath in the Yorkshire Tea Village Cup second round.

Bartlett’s innings included six fours and two sixes, while Buckingham blasted four fours and three sixes as Downs secured victory at 187-5 with an over to spare, Lee Mason capturing 3-31.

Earlier, Horspath had been held to 184-6 after being put in to bat, with Will Eason (53) and Adam Krol (51no) leading the recovery after Harry Sutton (2-31) had helped reduce the hosts to 19-3.

Great & Little Tew reached the third round with a 64-run win at Tiddington.

Curtly Slatter top-scored with 70 as the visitors posted 191-8.

Liam Manley captured 3-29 as Tiddington were dismissed for 127, Sam Hollingshead taking 38.

Manley was ably assisted by Robbie Shurmer (2-28) and Andy Harris (2-42).

Vishane Perera’s 70 helped Challow & Childrey win by five wickets at Kingston Bagpuize.

Kingston were all out for 130 in 36.4 overs after being put in, Tom King taking 3-19.

Challow reached 131-5 with 21 balls to spare.

Cumnor host Cropredy in a rearranged clash on Sunday.
