Josh Megson produced one of the finest batting displays ever seen at under 15 level, smashing a magnificent 193 to help Oxfordshire to a 68-run victory over Dorset at Blandford.

Megson struck 15 fours and ten huge sixes, before being bowled off the last ball of the Oxon innings in a truly memorable knock.

Winning the toss and batting, Oxon were soon in deep trouble.

Megson came to the crease with them in all sorts of trouble at 3-2, and was powerless to stop them from slumping to 32-4.

But the Banbury all-rounder changed the course of the game, slamming every Dorset bowler to all parts of the ground.

Megson put on 56 with Will Briggs, 72 with Jake Horwood and 98 with Josh Garrett, mixing brilliant shot selection with some outstanding hitting.

His superb innings saw Oxon finish on 297-9 from their 50 overs.

And Megson was not finished yet.

Despite seeing his opening two overs disappear for 16 runs, he soon made amends with a great diving catch as Oxfordshire made the all-important breakthrough.

Despite only taking the second wicket with the score on 85, after that, all Oxon’s bowlers performed well – dismissing Dorset’s batsmen at regular intervals.

Liam Hare (2-13) and Garrett (2-38) proved the pick of the attack in a hard-fought victory.
