OXFORD City AC made it 11 Veteran 60 men’s titles in a row with another dominant display at the South of England Road Relay Championships in Aldershot.

City extended their incredible winning streak, which began in 2005, to take victory at the Rushmoor Arena on Sunday by more than two minutes across a hilly two-lap 6km course.

Their four-man team led from start to finish, with Richard Grant clocking 23mins 8secs on the first leg.

Giovanni Puglisi (24.57) took over first place, before Stewart Thorp (23.39) and anchor man John Exley (25.50) held City’s lead.

Grant clocked the fastest individual split, with Thorp third and Puglisi fourth.

In the men’s V50 event, City’s team of Brian Green (22.31), Steve Overton (22.22), Trevor Dixon (24.48) and Kevin Brackett (23.50) finished eighth.

City’s six-man team came 35th out of 69 in the senior race, with two members – Les Newell (20.19) and Julian Richardson (19.59) – being Vet 40 runners.

Maxwell Robinson (20.45), Matthieu Marshall (20.05), Simon Fisher (20.04) and Callum Bampton (21.48) also competed.
