ROBBIE Eason hit a sublime 120 not out for Horspath, but still saw his side’s lead at the top cut to only 13 points after they were held to a draw at Buckingham Town.

Eason’s masterful ton came in Horspath’s 247-2, which also featured fine innings by Matthew O’Connor (54) and James Phillips (51).

Town were never in the hunt after tea, but Jack Parish’s 56 and some patient resistance saw them to 142-6.

Great & Little Tew turned up the heat on Horspath by beating Bletchley Town with predictable ease.

Town were soon in trouble against Andy Harris (4-41) and Robbie Shurmer (3-21), and were eventually all out for 133 in the 48th over.

Harry Smith (67no) and Ed Gross (41) then steered Tew to a straightforward seven-wicket win with 17 overs to spare.

Oxford Downs prevailed at Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts by one wicket in the tightest of finishes.

First Amin Rafiq took 6-34 to put Downs in command and send Nondies spiralling to 126 all out.

Then Shabaz Alam (5-28) and Umair Ghazali (3-30) brought the hosts back into it.

But Justin Cantrill's 44 kept Downs in the game, and they eventually made it to 128-9 to leave Nondies deep in trouble at the bottom.

Cumnor crashed to 52 all out on their way to an embarrassing defeat at home to Banbury 2nd, who had only tasted victory once before this summer.

Anish Desai (95) and Andrew Sabin (59) had batted well to take Banbury to a respectable 223-6 from their 53 overs. Adam Jones claimed 4-33 for the hosts.

But Banbury’s total proved more than enough as Keith Arnold (4-20), James Risbridger (3-10) and Josh Megson (3-21) bowled their side to a 171-run victory.
