STEVE Naylor may not be able to defend his Mota-Vation Series title.

The 33-year-old, from Woodstock, won the only race of the series to take place so far at Bletchingdon.

But the rescheduling caused by waterlogged car parks means Naylor, whose first claim club is Bedford & County, is struggling to compete in four of the five rounds he needs to qualify.

“I am competing in a BMC race in Coventry next Wednesday,” said Naylor.

“This means I shall be missing Combe Mota-Vation and other re-arranged races mean I may have a job to defend my title.”

Naylor finished sixth in the Biggleswade Track Fest 10,000m on Thursday, clocking 30mins 46.7secs in wet and windy conditions.
