Former Didcot Town midfielder Jack King has made a dream move into the Football League with Preston North End after helping Woking to the Blue Square Bet South title last season.
The 26-year-old midfielder, from Oxford, who also had an extended spell at Brackley Town, scored nearly 40 goals for the Railwaymen in more than 150 appearances between 2003 and 2009.
He has signed a one-year deal with the npower League One outfit after agreeing terms with manager Graham Westley, with whom he worked at Farnborough.
After starring in a 2-0 friendly win at Southport on Saturday, King said: “I’m enjoying it. From when you are a young kid it is obviously everyone’s dream to be a full-time professional footballer and now I have realised that dream.
“It is hard work, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
