CHERWELL LEAGUE

BANBURY 2nd made up ground at the foot of the Division 1 table when they enjoyed the better of a draw with Great Brickhill.
It was one of only five of the league’s 49 scheduled matches to start as the weather wreaked havoc for the second weekend running.
All the games that did get under way were affected by yet more rain and no one managed to force a win.
Banbury were bolstered by  Jonny Cater, Lloyd Sabin and Anish Desai, who had all been selected for the first team’s match with Bishops Stortford, but switched when that was called off.
Cater hit an unbeaten 70, Sabin made 68 and Desai scored 65 as Banbury closed on 224-6 from 41 overs.
Brickhill’s reply was reduced by rain from 36 overs to 29 as they made 104-5.
Graeme Carter led the way with 41.
Olly Wright, another Banbury first teamer, took 3-41.
