Witney Town’s new boss Justin Merritt has boosted his firepower by signing goal-mach-ine Ryan Brooks from Uhlsport Hellenic Lea-gue Premier Division rivals Ardley United.

The former Oxford United youngster scored 44 goals in 42 games for Kevin Brock’s side last season and is one of six new arrivals at Witney Community Stadium.

The others are ex-Bedford Town striker James Faulkner, former Abingdon Town frontman Mark Janes, Kelvin McIntosh, from Sutton United, plus Adam Morris and James Dobson from Merritt’s old club Oxford City Nomads.

Witney host Reading Town when their Premier Division campaign kicks off on Tuesday, August 7.

Kidlington travel to Holyport, while Thame United entertain Flackwell Heath and Abingdon Town are at home to Wokingham & Emmbrook.

Ardley start their Premier Division season away to Cheltenham Saracens the following day.

The midweek start enables teams involved in the following weekend’s FA Cup to play a competitive game.

Premier Division champions Oxford City Nomads start their campaign on Saturday, August 11 at home to Highmoor Ibis.
