Oxford Saints’s four-match winning streak in South West Conference Division 2 came to a juddering halt in a 16-0 home humbling by Cornish Sharks.
They went behind early on when Lee Ambridge cut through a flat-footed def-ence for a touchdown, which was converted for a seven-point lead.
Saints were cursing their luck when Sam Armstrong dived into the end-zone, only for the score to be disallowed for an earlier offence.
A 37-yard field goal from David Kriehn gave Sharks a 10-0 lead.
And it got worse for Saints in the fourth quarter when Cornish quarter-back Richard Atkinson burst through the home defence before touching down from a yard out to complete Saints misery.
