WOLVERCOTE CC stalwart and former Oxfordshire Over 50s player Brian Gillham died on on Friday.
For more than 25 years, Mr Gillham was associated with Wolvercote, where he had been heavily involved in the youth side of the game.
As well as having served as a player, Mr Gillham was more recently a league umpire when Wolvercote started up a second team.
He was previously a member of West Witney CC and before that with Bladon.
Mr Gilham went on to represent Oxfordshire at over 50s level as a useful right-arm slow bowler.
Wolvercote member Patrick Boyd Maunsell said: “He had a great arm ball and got wilier as he got older.”
He also turned out for North Oxford’s Thursday side.
- MORETON won two matches out of two on their fourth annual tour to Holland.
Their victories came against Amsterdam CC and Bloementaal, while a third match, against Amsterdam, was cancelled because of rain.
