Didcot Town kick off their pre-season programme obn July 10 when they host Premier League new boys Reading in the first of two top friendlies at the npower Loop Meadow Stadium (7.45pm).

The Royals, who reached the top flight last season after winning the Championship, are expected to bring a strong squad made up of first-team regulars, reserves and apprentices.

That is followed ten days later by the visit of Chris Wilder’s Oxford United side on Friday, July 20 (7.45).

After a disappointing 2011-12 campaign, Didcot boss Dave Mudge has brought in a number of new signings, including striker Ryan Blake from Hemel Hempstead Town, Brian Bowles from North Leigh and Thatcham duo James Clark and Gareth Thomas.

Back in the fold after re-joining from North Leigh are Morgan Williams and Elliot Osborne-Ricketts.

Meanwhile, Abingdon United have snapped up Simeon Williams from neighbours Didcot.

The former Banbury United midfielder joins fellow new signing Samuel Tucker, 22, from Thatcham Town.

Carl Evans, James Foster, Matt Biddle, Leon Bird and Luke Carnell have all agreed to re-sign.
