TWO local races have fallen foul to the recent rain.
Tonight’s Mota-Vation Series event at Combe has been postponed, while Charndon 5K, scheduled for Tuesday, has been cancelled.
Round one of the Mota-Vation road race series, due to be held at Charlton-on-Otmoor on May 3, was put back until Sunday, August 26 after the car park was waterlogged.
And now the same problem has hit round three at Combe, with organisers considering July 19 or 26 as new dates after being unable to secure alternative parking.
The Charndon 5K, organised by Alchester RC, was originally postponed from May 15 due to a drenched parking field.
And a statment on the club’s website reads: “The field for car parking is wetter than it was in May.”
Maybe it is time to take up triathlon.
