CUMNOR were bowled out for only 62 and so suffered a humiliating 194-run defeat at Buckingham Town.

Wayne Platts took 7-20 and Simon Myatt finished with 3-32 as the visitors were blown away in 21.1 overs.

Earlier all of the home batsmen scored runs for fun, with Myatt (61no), Sam Keegan (51), Matthew Thatcher (43), Wayne Platts (36) and Jack Parish (31) taking the total to 256-6.

Buckingham Town 25pts, Cumnor 2

Banbury 2nd almost suffered a similar fate at Leighton Buzzard Town before just managing to stave off defeat with their score on 97-9.

Jack Kempster (5-43) and Lee Selfe (3-28) were in complete control, but ran out of time as rain delays meant Banbury’s innings was curtailed to 29 overs.

Earlier Town had struggled to 136-9 from 40 overs, Selfe hitting 42 while Keith Arnold claimed 5-42.

Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts’ encounter with Bletchley Town was bubbling up into an interesting finish when rain forced an early close.

Nondies had been bowled out for 214 in 52 overs. Aftab Alam (47), Zia Hamid (39no), Nick Duxon (34), Tim Rattigan (33) and Ayaz Khan (32) all got off to a good start without posting match-winning scores.

Ricardo Brown took 3-25 and James Clark claimed 3-45 for Town, who had reached 117-3 from 31.2 overs when rain stopped play. Lee Taylor made 47.

Bletchley Tn 6, Ox & Bletch N 13

A heavy shower also put paid to hopes of a result at Great Brickhill, who dominated their match with Great & Little Tew.

Graeme Carter (87), Doug Aris (81) and Andy Ward (61) helped Brickhill reach an imposing 281-5 from their 53 overs.

Tew also batted well, with Ashley Hubbert (60), Joe White (47) and Ben Millard (42) to the fore. But wickets kept falling and the loss of six overs to rain suited the visitors, who ended on 204-7.
