A TERRIFIC team performance by leaders Oxford 2nd saw them thrash Long Marston by 117 runs.

First, Stefan van Dyk (66), Taylor Beatty (50) and Mark Sheehan (38) saw the hosts to 254-9 from only 41 overs.

Pete Toovey took 5-90 and then top-scored with 52, but Taylor Beatty (3-6), Jack Stimpson (3-15) and Richard Beer (3-25) combined to bowl out Marston for 137.

Alex Kill clattered 94 and Nigel Hume hit 41 as promotion-chasing Challow & Childrey racked up 246-6 at home to Aston Rowant 2nd.

Mark Walker (54) and Paul Plumridge (45) held together Rowant’s reply, but Adam Tucker took 3-63 to restrict them to 202-8.

Oxford Downs 2nd were handily placed to press for victory at home to Abingdon Vale when rain stopped play.

Vale had managed only 164-9 from their 53 overs, with skipper Graham Charlesworth (50) leading the way. Matty Watts took 5-56 against his former club.

Ian Caunce was unbeaten on 51 and Downs were 72-1 from 17 overs when the weather intervened.

Strugglers Sandford St Martin were 102-5 from 38 overs at home to Tiddington when heavy rain prevented any further play.

Neil Cox was back in the pavilion with 35 to his name, while Matt Maule took 3-21.

Adam Bone bagged 4-57 and then hit a crucial 30 not that took Twyford to a three-wicket win at home to Wolverton Town.

The visitors’ 180 saw Atif Akhlaq top-score with 76, while Bone and Bilal Afzal (4-37) held sway with the ball.

Tanveer Nadeem (44), Afzal (32) and Majod Sharif (30) then set up the run chase before Bone finished it off.

Wolverton were docked one point for their slow over rate.
