NEIL Smith took 5-47 from 17 overs for Tiddington 2nd, but could not quite propel his side to victory over Didcot.

The hosts looked set to win when Henry Brisland fell for 71 and Ian Demain for 53, but the last pair clung on at 167-9.

Earlier Tiddington had posted 212-9. Alex Mackie made 49 and Matt Johnston 44, while Jordan Morrison claimed 5-59.

Thame Town 2nd prevailed against Challow & Childrey 2nd in a tense affair.

Justin Penrose hit 51 as Challow were bowled out for 132, Alastair Thomas taking 4-34 and Ian McStay 3-49.

Daniel Alderson claimed 4-33 for the visitors, but Thame scrambled to 135-7 and victory.

Horley maintained the league’s only 100 per cent record by beating Kimble.

They made it six wins from six starts after Dave Taylor (68no) saw his side to 145-6.

Earlier Dave Eaton (4-47) and Darren de Bruyn (3-34) had dismissed Kimble for 143.

Abingdon Vale 2nd moved within eight points of second by beating Banbury 4th.

Joe Butcher took 4-60 and Matthew Darley 3-42 to dismiss the visitors for 159. Basit Ahmed made 41 and Clark Berry 35 not out.

Rob Hood then hit 47 and Chris Darley 33 as Vale eased to 160-6 from 45 overs.

Rain put everyone out of their misery at Brackley, where Horspath 3rd had crawled to 18-1 from 16 overs.

Mikey Lowe hit 63 and Dave Barnes 36 in Brackley’s 196-4.
