Despite appalling weather again, John Bailey bagged a brace of sixes in Chequers A Quarry’s 2-1 home win over Red Lion B Eynsham in Section 2 of the Greene King Oxford & District League.

After losing the opening leg 16-12, Bailey (2-6-6) led the way as Chequers hit back to take the next two 22-16, 20-14.

In the Premier Section, Roger Goodall (5-6-4) starred with 15 dolls for Six Bells C Kidlington, but it couldn’t save them from a 2-1 defeat at home to Garsington Sports Club A.

Garsington won the first leg 30-28, but Six Bells levelled in the next 23-18 before losing the decider 27-23.

In Section 3, Kevin Stuart (5-5-5) hit a steady for Rose Hill Club A, but they still went down 2-1 at home to Vikings Sports A.

Rose Hill won the first leg 26-18, but crashed 20-16, 22-19 in the next two.

Bullnose A won 3-0 at Three Horseshoes with legs scores of 21-18, 27-14, 22-19.

Kenny Keep (2-5-4) led the way with 11 dolls.

In Section 4, anchor man Len Wing grabbed Garsington Sports B a point in their 2-1 defeat at home to Six Bells A Kidlington.

Trailing 2-0, Garsington were set 17 in the final leg, and Wing, needing four to win, stepped up to clang off five dolls with his first five sticks.

Vikings Sports C scored more dolls than hosts Donnington Club C, but still lost 2-1 in Section 5.

Vikings won the opening leg 16-9, but lost the next two 13-12, 14-10.

Steve James (2-2-6) hit his first six of the season as Queens Head came from behind to win 2-1 at home to Masons B in Section 6.

Masons took leg one 17-15, but Queens Head captured the next two legs 19-16, 19-17.

James Morrison and Joe Bandrowski were top dogs for Masons with 11 dolls each.

Keith Tanner (4-5-3) hit a dozen dolls, but it failed to save Gladiators B from a 2-1 defeat at the Red Lion A Kidlington.

Red Lion won the first leg 19-13, before Gladiators levelled with an 18-10 success, but the hosts took the last 16-13.

In Section 7, Nut Tree also lost 2-1, despite scoring more dolls than hosts Red Lion Islip.

Red Lion won the first leg 15-14, and took the next on three-stick shoot out after it was tied 12-12, before Nut Tree took the last 19-17.

Neil Brock (5-3-4) hit a dozen dolls for Red Lion.

Red Lion B Cassington fought back from a first leg demolition to win 2-1 at home to Brill Social Club A in Section 8.

Brill took the opener 18-8, but Red Lion claimed the next 10-9, before taking the decider 14-10.
