KIDLINGTON have been crowned Under 13 League champions – but only by the narrowest of margins.

After winning two games this week, Kidlington finished level on points with Oxford City at the top of the table.

League rules state that the positions will then be determined by the head-to-head results of the two sides, but these were 3-3 and 2-2.

With goals scored in these games the same, it was the third rule that came into effect – the away goals scored.

And by virtue of netting three times at City’s ground, Kidlington win the league.

Their first success of the weekend came with a 3-1 win over Swindon Town, with Emily Young hitting a double and Rosie McCabe adding the third.

The same two players then each bagged a brace as Kidlington beat Didcot Casuals 4-0 to secure top spot.

Meanwhile, Shelley Knight hit a ten-minute, second-half hat-trick as Oxford City beat Didcot Casuals 4-0 in their final game of the campaign.

Miriam Pritchard fired City into a half-time lead, but they had to wait until ten minutes from time to double their advantage through Knight.

She went on to add two more quickfire goals, but it was not quite enough to secure the title.

Under 15

St Edmunds fought back from a goal behind to beat Tower Hill 5-1 and book their place in the League Cup final.

Tower went ahead on six minutes through Robyn Coburn.

However, April England levelled before half-time, and then second-half strikes from Anna Jiminez (2), Meggie Crawford and Ellen Chung sealed victory.

Under 11

Lauren Barnett hammered a four-timer as Chinnor beat Tower Hill Blue 7-1.

Leah Kaplicz (2) and Chloe Shurety added the other goals, with Ellie Smart replying for Tower.
