THE latest Ann Malone Memorial match proved a family affair as Stephen and Roger Malone bagged the first two places at a red-hot Stable Lake.

Stephen topped the 13-strong field with an excellent 136.12.0 of carp on method feeder with meat, beating Roger into second place with 75.8.0 of carp on method feeder and maggot.

Anthony Alder was third with 54.0.0 of carp on pole and maggot.

The anglers raised £92 for Sobell House hospice.

Lee Ripper also hit the ton in Saturday’s match at Oakfield Fishery on Swallow Lake.

Early on, he caught just a couple of carp and some good skimmers on meat from peg five.

Then a switch to the left-hand margin saw the carp come faster and bigger, culminating in numerous 5lb-10lb fish in the last hour and giving him a winning weight of 126.1.8.

Ray Dandridge came out tops with three good skimmers and bits on punched bread for 5.2.0, just ahead of Roger Brown with 4.8.8, comprising one good bream and bits.

Paul Jackman had a mixed bag on chopped worm and mixed maggots for 3.9.0.

l GEOFF Waddle notched a carp double from Marlborough Pool, near Cassington, with a personal best mirror of 26.0.0 and a 20.0.0 common.

Both fish came after dark and he also caught another small common of about 4lb, plus a tench and a large bream.
