Didcot teenager Daniel Griffiths is set to compete alongside the country’s top amateur riders, just two years after taking up the sport of eventing.
The 19-year-old has qualified for the Mitsubishi Motors Grassroots Championships, which will be run alongside the world renowned Badminton Horse Trials on May 2-3.
He only partnered his ride, the 11-year-old Cogs Benjamin for the first time in 2010.
“Having made it to the regional finals in my first year, I thought I had to give it one more go and qualified,” said Griffiths.
He juggles his competing with head lad duties for Upton-based eventer Joss Gray.
