DIDCOT kart racer Elliot Harvey is raring to go in the Super 1 Championship, which gets under way at Whilton Mill, near Daventry, today.
The ten-year-old finished third from a field of 32 Honda Cadets from all over the country in a warm-up event at the Northants venue last weekend.
He made excellent progress through the three heats, despite being bumped on to the grass in one race.
Despite losing several places, he still managed to battle his way back to secure fourth spot on the grid for the final.
Harvey made a good start in the decider, staying in third position for the majority of the race.
He fended off several challenges to take a spot on the podium – just a second behind the winner.
