MILES Welch-Hayes will be presented with the Kevin Durham Memorial Cup before Oxford United’s home game with Gillingham tomorrow.
Welch-Hayes, who plays for United’s under 16 centre of excellence side, wins the award presented for the U’s most promising schoolboy footballer.
Elsewhere, former United defender, Rhys Day announced his retirement from the game this week due to injury.
Day, who will be remembered for the clearing header that led to United’s third goal in the Blue Square Premier play-off final win at Wembley in 2010, had been at Mansfield.
Meanwhile, another ex-U’s player, David Langan, underwent his 12th knee operation on Wednesday.
