Stuart Hole scored a double as North Leigh boosted their Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West play-off hopes with an easy win against ten-man Thatcham.
The result puts Mark Gee’s men five points behind sixth-placed Hungerford Town.
On 13 minutes, Thatcham keeper Paul Strudley was sent off for bringing down Morgan Williams as he headed for goal. Hole fired the resulting penalty past stand-in keeper and substitute Scott Rees.
North Leigh keeper Sam Warrell denied Paul Taplin, before North Leigh’s Andy Caton headed Kieran Sanders’s cross wide.
Just before the break, North Leigh went 2-0 up when Hole headed in a corner at the far post.
Joe Burnell made it 3-0 a minute from time after fastening onto a poor clearance before clipping it past the keeper.
John Mills added a fourth at the death to cap an excellent display from the play-off chasers.
North Leigh: Warrell, Hole, Organ (Reardon 70), Burnell, Franklin, Caton, Sanders, Bowles, Williams (Mills 76), Osborne-Ricketts, Hopkins. Subs not used: Clark, Merriman.
