CHINNOR must be quick out of the blocks at home to Exmouth tomorrow if they are to avoid a first defeat of the season in Natiional 3 South West.

That is the view of head coach Jason Bowers ahead of their clash with the dangerous Devon visitors.

Chinnor, who name an unchanged squad, have a 100 per cent record, but fourth-placed Exmouth have made a strong start to 2012.

Bowers said: “We are in the right frame of mind to go up against a good side.

“They have scored a lot of tries in the last few weeks and their last away trip was a win at (third-placed) Redingensians.

“We used our get out of jail card at their place in October to win 20-19 with a last-minute try from Sam Stoop.

“We need to be on our guard and start well. We can’t afford to do that again.”

Bowers added: “We have been able to train every time during the cold snap, but it was nice to get a decent session in on Tuesday.”

Andy Noyce comes in on the wing for Oxford Harlequins’ trip to Old Patesians.

Huw Jones moves to full back to cover for Frank Mayfield, who has work commitments.

Manager Steve Chadbone said: “We want to go there and get the win.

“We have been working a lot on scrummaging this week, so hopefully, that will tighten that area up.

“All being well, we should get the win. We don’t want to come back empty-handed.”

Quins are still two points adrift of safety, but Chadbone said: “If we can have a good five to six week period, we should be fine.

“It is totally up to us. If we play like we have been showing in training, we can do it.

“We have Amersham & Chiltern and Old Redcliffians to come here, which is crucial.”

Neil Baggett comes in at full back as Henley Hawks host Launceston in National 2 South.

Baggett was named on the bench for last week’s postponed match at Worthing, but gets the No 15 shirt this time, with skipper Tom Allen replacing the unavailable Danny Wells at outside centre.

James Gaunt is also unavailable, so Jonah Holmes takes his place at scrum half.

Henley name the same pack that would have started last week.

Centre Tom Harper and No 8 Joe Rowles come into the Witney side for their home game with Reading Abbey in South West 1 East.

Captain Jez Hicks moves to the second row alongside Richard Haire.

Witney lie eighth in the table, but are still chasing their first win of 2012.
