Oxford City boss Mike Ford has warned his -Stik Southern League Premier Division promotion-chasers not to get complacent away to Swindon Supermarine on Saturday.

Although the Wiltshire side are one place off the bottom, Ford said they were not taking victory for granted.

“People can look at the league tables, but we have to make sure we are at it,” said Ford.

“If you get complacent it can bite you on the back-side.”

Meanwhile, Ford said he was pleased with their display in their Oxfordshire Senior Cup quarter-final clash at Banbury United, despite a 1-0 defeat.

Ford added: “Steve Basham got 45 minutes for the first time in three months, Mark Bell played an hour, while Aaron Woodley and Darren Pond got some time under their belts.

“We are disappointed to lose, but as an an exercise in giving the players some competitive action it was great.”

Banbury United manager Ady Fuller is looking for his side to make it three wins in a row away to Weymouth.

Victory against City and the 4-1 success against Stourbridge in January have given Fuller’s side a boost.

He said: “We’ve beaten two top sides in our last two games, so we want to make it three.

“It is important we get something so we can move away from the bottom of the table.”

Banbury will be without the Ryan Howell, Josh Blake, Simeon Williams and Liam Richardson (all unavailable).
