HarryY Worley could get a rare start when Oxford United travel to Burton Albion tomorrow.

The big defender hasn’t started a game since the U's 4-1 defeat at Crawley on November 19, but could be drafted into defence to cover for the absence of Damian Batt who starts a two-match ban for picking up ten bookings.

His only other npower League Two appearance this season was in United's 2-1 defeat at Southend where he played as one of three centre backs, with Andy Whing and Jake Wright, following an injury to Michael Duberry and did well.

Alternatively, boss Chris Wilder could play Whing at right back with Asa Hall taking over from the former Orient defender in midfield.

“We’ve changed our shape all season, so we’ve played three centre halves a couple of times, so there’s options,” said Wilder.

“Harry has done really well and he can play there as well. Whingy has played central midfield, so there’s all sorts of things that we can do.”

Up front, Tom Craddock, who scored in the 1-1 draw against Coventry in a behind-closed doors friendly in midweek, new signing Oli Johnson, Alfie Potter, James Constable and Jon-Paul Pittman will battle it out for places.

United will be aiming to get back to winning ways at Burton, with whom they drew 2-2 at the Kassam Stadium in September, following last weekend’s 2-2 home draw with Hereford.

Wilder said Paul Peschisolido’s side, who brought to an end a three-match losing streak with a 1-1 draw at Bradford on Saturday, would be a tough proposition.

He added: “Every game in this league is a difficult one and they’ll want to win the game.

“They are a good side and they are up there on merit.

“In the first year they did great and I’m not surprised they are doing well.

“We’re a bit disappointed we didn’t win the league game (at the Kassam Stadium), but credit to Burton they came back at us very strongly and showed a great amount ofesilience to get a point from the game.

“But we’ll be looking to win as we have done on our travels all season.”

Burton add on-loan Swansea midfielder Lee Lucas to a squad missing striker Billy Kee (groin) and Tony James (hamstring).

Left back Aaron Webster is set to return after a knee injury.

Peschisolido, who hopes to sign another player in time for tomorrow’s game, said: “I don’t think Billy’s going to be right in time for the Oxford game, which disappoints me.”
