BENJAMIN Crofts was crowned ‘Masters’ champion in the Mini Red indoor tennis event at St Hugh’s School in Faringdon.
Eight-year-old Crofts, from Wytham, saw off Bobby Hornby, six, from Bicester 10-2 in the Masters final for more experienced players.
Crofts had earlier beaten seven-year-old Edward Alder, from Clanfield, in his semi-final, while Hornby defeated Oxford’s Arthur Manson, five.
The Challenger final for less experienced players saw Angus Grinstead, from Oxford, beat Rafe Llewellyn, from Botley, 10-7.
In the girls’ round-robin event, Scarlett Paton, from Bampton, won all her matches to take the gold medal, with Grace Manson from Oxford receiving silver.
