REDINGENSIANS have offered to assist Chinnor financially when the promotion rivals replay their National 3 South West clash at the Reading club on February 11.

The original match on December 17 was abandoned after 58 minutes with Chinnor leading 17-5 following delays surrounding the broken leg and dislocated ankle suferred by visiting wing Ken Prinsloo.

Chinnor claimed the result should stand as the rules surrounding injury abandonments were not clear, but the South West Division competitions committee ruled against this and ordered a repay.

Mike Gee, the committee’s secretary, told Chinnor this was because “there was still over a quarter of the game remaining” and “the scores were relatively close.”

He added: “Redingensians have offered to assist with your extra expenses and have advised us that they are prepared to share the gate on that day.”

  • FORMER Chinnor and Oxfordshire flanker Dave Seymour is speaking about his rugby career at Wycombe Museum today as part of their Sports Talk season.

Seymour, who now plays for Sale Sharks, will also answer questions at the session from 12 to 1.30pm. Tickets are £4.

  • WALLINGFORD raised £600 for their nominated charity Sue Ryder – Nettlebed Hospice during their Christmas Eve internal match.
