GROVE head coach Craig Burrows admitted his side had been pushed hard by Wallingford.

He said: “We were in control early on, but then we seemed to push the self-destruct button. Both their tries in the first half came from our mistakes.

“We allowed them to put the pressure on and I thought their No 8 (Ian Jeffreys) was excellent.

“Those last ten minutes saw all the work we have done in training come into effect.

“The bottom line is that a bonus-point win keeps us on track.

“Wallingford deserved at least a bonus point. They gave us a real test.”

Wallingford coach Stuart Mount said: “We had two held-up tries at the end, which could have made the difference.

“I think the right side won, but we are frustrated as we should have got a fourth try and a losing bonus point as well.

“Grove fed our our mistakes and took their chances well.

“I was pleased with the organisation of our team. They fought hard for each other.

“For us to still be pressing at the end was great, but it was frustrating not to get anything from the match.”
