FLY half Jed Boyle grabbed a hat-trick of tries as Banbury Bulls bounced back with a 42-14 victory at Pershore.

Banbury’s starting XV featured 14 players who had come through their juniors, with a further two on the bench.

Bulls took the lead on ten minutes when wing Billy McKenna finished a slick move and scrum half Eddie Phillips converted.

Phillips fed Boyle for a try and converted on a day when he did not miss a two-pointer.

Pershore replied with a converted try before prop Rory Dymond and centre Pete Flemming sent Boyle cantering over for his second.

The hosts had a man sin-binned before half-time, but raised their game.

Bulls defended well and secured a bonus point when No 8 Simon Brand went through a blindside gap.

Blood replacement Jacob Mills seized on a favourable bounce to score try No 5.

Having used all their replacements, Banbury went down to 14 men after a knee injury to flanker Seamus O’Dwyer and conceded a converted try.

But Boyle was put through for his hat-trick try and Phillips made it six conversions from six.
