Abingdon United manager Richie Bourne has appointed former Swindon Supermarine boss Mark Collier as his new assistant.

Collier, who led Supermarine to the FA Cup second round last year before the club had budgetary problems, is the father of striker Sam, who joined Abingdon from Wootton Bassett at the start of the season.

“It’s a great boost for the club, even though it might be only for a short period until he finds another job in football,” said Bourne, whose side visit promotion-chasing Hungerford Town in Division 1 South & West tomorrow.

North Leigh will be hoping to extend their unbeaten run to five games when they entertain Halesowen.

Boss Mark Gee has secured the services of former Oxford United youngster Henry Owen, who is added to the squad.

Joe Burnell, who missed their 1-0 victory at Sholing last week due to work, is available.

Sam Parrish is back in training following his ankle injury, but is not yet ready to play, while Andy McCabe is still sidelined.

Didcot Town have parted company with Danny Seaward and Josh Millar as they attempt to battle away from the lower reaches of the table.

Boss Dave Mudge, whose side travel to Yate Town, said: “We’ve put in a couple of seven-day approaches, but it’s not easy to bring players in at this time.”

Mudge was encouraged by the battling 2-2 draw at home to Wimborne in midweek.

“We were staring another home defeat in the face, but then scored late on, which was good,” he said.
