Oxfordshire fired a three-goal salvo in the first half to set up a 5-0 win over Somerset in the ESFA Under 16 Inter County Trophy second round at Milton United.

After Somerset had the better of the opening 20 minutes, Oxon took the lead when Rory Linford-Pill fired home from close range following a corner.

James Clarke buried a fierce drive from 20 yards following a five-man move, before bursting through the heart of the defence to add his second.

Ollie Thomas sealed Oxon’s victory with a late brace in the second half, driving home a rebound after the Somerset keeper blocked Matthew Woodley’s free-kick, before capitalising on good work by Yassin Elouahabi.

Oxfordshire now face Surrey in the last 16 at Milton United on Tuesday, January 10 (6.30).
