Cokethorpe School, Witney, captured rugby's Oxfordshire Under 19 Cup for the fourth year running with a 31-0 victory over old rivals Henley College in the final at Oxford RFC.
The West Oxfordshire side, who had pipped Henley 8-7 in last year’s final, ran out far more comfortable winners this time around.
They dominated from the off, and the pressure told when Will Millett converted an early penalty.
Cokethorpe increased their lead when, from a penalty to the corner, a well-rehearsed catch-and-drive saw hooker Joshua Relph cross the line for a try, supported by Charles Zhang and Samuel O’Brien.
Millett added another penalty to give Cokethorpe an 11–0 advantage at the break.
Cokethorpe tightened their grip in the second half and Millett’s third penalty extended their lead.
Tom Wells’s chip was then gathered by Alex Cade, who crashed over for a try.
Millett then powered over the line to clock up 200 points for the season, before duly converting his own try.
Jack Biggs sealed victory with Cokethorpe’s fourth try.
ABINGDON School marched on in the Daily Mail Under 18 Schools’ Cup with a 24-7 win over RGS High Wycombe in the fifth round.
They now face Truro School.
Magdalen College School, Oxford, beat John Hampden Grammar School, High Wycombe, in the Daily Mail Under 18 Schools’ Vase fifth round.
Their opponents in round six are Reading Blue Coat.
