Burford School beat Chipping Norton School 15-5 in the West Oxfordshire District Under 19 Cup rugby final to complete a four-timer, having already won the Under 15, Under 14 and Under 13 competitions.
A bitterly cold night at Chipping Norton RFC, with the first half played in blizzard conditions, saw Burford take the lead through a Ted Landray penalty.
Man-of-the-match Landray then raced in close to the posts for a try, which he converted. Chipping Norton hit back a well-crafted try by left wing Oliver Evans to make the half-time score 10-5.
The second half became a forward battle and Chippy came closest to scoring, until Burford’s Callum Godfrey found himself in space and a slick passing movement put Louis Breaks over in the corner for the try that sealed the match.
In addition to Burford’s district four-timer, the under 15s also won the Oxfordshire Cup.
