Oxford Lions boss Enrique Guillen has been named FA National Futsal League manager of the month for November.
Guillen bagged the award after receiving the most votes from the other 23 National League managers.
His recognition comes after Oxford went top of the Midlands Division – one of three parallel top-flight competitions in England.
Guillen said: “It is great that the success of the Oxford Lions has been recognised by the other futsal teams in the UK, as we are the newest team in the league.
“I share this award with the whole team as they have bonded really well and continue to prove that you can be successful in sport by playing fair and having fun at the same time.”
Lions grabbed top spot after winning their last three matches against Loughborough University (7-3), Team Bath (7-6) and Cardiff (10-2), After defeating England B 4-3 in a friendly at Northampton on Saturday, their demolition of Cardiff on Sunday gave Oxford the goal difference they needed to go top.
Luke Ballinger (4), Edgar Da'Silva (2), Bruno Gibbin (2), Alfee Robbins and Paulo Caetano were all on target for the rampant Lions.
