AN update on the water situation in the Thames region and the prospects for river and lakes will be given at the 2012 annual general meeting of the Angling Trust Thames Reg-ional Forum.

The evening will include a talk by Barry Russell, of the Environment Agency, giving a progress report on the Lower Thames flood relief scheme and its potential fisheries and angling implications.

The meeting will be held at the Lambert Arms Hotel, Aston Rowant, on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 (7.30pm).

There are a maximum of 30 places available on a first-come first-served basis and members who intend to be present must register in advance by email to johnellis410@btinternet.com to reserve a place.

  • THE Oxfordshire branch of the Pike Anglers Club have secured a rare pike fish-in at Orchid Lakes, Dorchester, on Monday, January 30.

Owner Marsh Pratley does not normally allow pike fishing at the big carp water.

Cost is £20 per person, three rods and sea deadbaits only. Livebaits can be used if caught from the lake, but strictly no coarse live or deadbaits can be brought onto the site.
