Six young tennis players from Oxfordshire have been earmarked as some of the brightest up-and-coming talent in the country after they were selected to join the Lawn Tennis Association’s AEGON FutureStars programme.
The youngsters have all earned their place following a successful year on court and will now receive added support from the LTA.
The oldest of them is 16-year-old Sebastian Rey, from Wantage, who now trains at the University of Bath.
Three come from Abingdon, namely, Alexis Canter, 13, Charlie Naylor, 13, and nine-year-old Connor Ferguson, who trains at White Horse Leisure & Tennis Centre.
This training base is also use by the other two starlets, who both come from Oxford ten-year-olds Raia Jagger and Leo Winyard.
