Oxford Harlequins lock Andy Boyle has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a leg infection.

“The leg got infected after he suffered a deep vein thrombosis,” explained squad manager Steve Chadbone.

“He’s been advised not to take part in any contact sport, so he’s out for the season and possibly the start of next season.

“We wish him all the best for a speedy recovery.”

Meanwhile, their Maltese international forward Charlie Sammut faces a late fitness test ahead of tomorrow’s home game against Barnsta-ple in National 3 South West.

Chadbone added: “We are just pushing forward for a good result against a strong team.

“We are pretty much on a roll at the moment and after a superb all-round display from our front five and our backs against Amersham & Chiltern (Quins won 23-14) .

“We just want to keep it going.”

Chinnor’s head coach Jason Bowers is urging his side not to let up as they host Newton Abbot.

League leaders Chinnor have won all 12 matches so far, including a 67-0 hammering of Newbury last time out, and are now there to be shot at.

“We are a side playing good rugby, so we want to carry on that momentum,” said Bow-ers.

Centre Sam Stoop returns to the squad after missing last week’s victory at Newbury due to work commitments.

Henley Hawks captain Tom Allen moves from centre to full back as they visit Taunton in National 2 South.

Danny Wells returns to his customary inside centre berth, while James Comben continues at fly half.

Hugo Milford-Scott and Will Woodward are back at loose-head prop and blindside flanker.

This means Rupert Cross-land, who scored two tries in last week's 44-21 defeat of Barnes, drops to the bench.

Flanker Wayne Caffekey and fly half Pierre Dubost return to the Witney side for their home clash with Marlow in South West 1 East.

Marc Copperwheat moves to lock, with Charlie Bennett dropping to the bench.
