Banbury United boss Ady Fuller has praised his side’s efforts and asked for more of the same when they visit Redditch in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division – for the second time in a week in the Premier Division on Saturday.

On Tuesday, Banbury won 2-0 at Redditch in the Red Insure Cup to make it two wins since their 4-0 FA Trophy drubbing at Wealdstone.

Fuller said: “After that game we shook it up a bit and said to them if they don’t perform people, would go.

“We asked a few questions and, so far, so good. But we’re not getting carried away.”

Banbury keeper Andy Kemp is unavailable, so Max Crocombe makes his debut after joining on a short-term loan deal from Oxford United.

Former Cogenhoe United centre back Dan Chilton could start after making his debut against Redditch.

Ben Thackeray (hamstring), Nick Kingston (foot) are injury doubts.

Oxford City boss Mike Ford wants his side to be more clinical, starting with their trip to Bashley.

On Tuesday, City dominated the first half against Brackley, only to go down to a 5-2 defeat.

“Declan Benjamin missed a chance in the first half that 90 times out of 100 he would have got. They got a chance and scored from it.

“If we are to compete at the top end of the table we have to be better.

“Looking at the Brackley and Totton games we are quite a way from them.

“It’s about having ruthlessness which comes from playing in successful sides for a long period.

“We’ve got a lot of talent and honesty in our players, but they lack guile.”

City are without keeper Jason Mooney (leg), Steve Basham (Achilles) and Darren Pond (banned).

North Leigh boss Mark Gee has expressed his frustration at his inconsistent Division 1 South & West side.

On Saturday the Millers, who beat leaders Hungerford earlier in the season, lost 4-1 to lowly Yate and Gee wants that to change.

Gee said: “They played well and we were awful. That was probably our worst performance of the season.

“Our season has been full of highs and lows. We are either very good or we under-perform.

“Injuries and suspensions haven’t helped, but the situation is looking better and hopefully, we can get a better level of consistency.”

Sam Parrish (thigh), Mark Flanagan (ankle), Andy McCabe (hamstring) and Tom Franklin (banned) miss out.
