It was very much a tale of two halves Thame United won 3-1 at home to Witney Town in Saturday’s Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division contest.

Witney held the upper hand in the first half, when they took the lead through Tom Boxer in the 25th minute, from Tommy Austin’s curling free-kick.

Witney’s Andrew Styles had already seen an effort disallowed for offside.

Thame’s Aaron Rogers saw a diving header come back off a post before Daniel West had the ball in the net, but this time the offside flag came to Witney’s rescue.

The hosts levelled six minutes after the break when the unmarked Alex Stewart headed home from James Keeble’s deep cross.

Midway through the half, an inswinging free-kick by West deceived everybody and dropped in at the far post to put Thame ahead.

The game was killed off as a contest in the 74th minute when Aaron Rogers netted Thame’s third goal on the turn.

A disputed Henley Town.

Mark Baker put the visitors in front after 25 minutes, but David Hoar equalised ten minutes later.

However Danny Leggett’s 69th-minute spot-kick separated the sides.

Letcombe were fuming after their exciting 3-3 draw away to high-riding Highmoor-Ibis in Division 1 East.

The visitors were complaining that Highmoor’s last two goals both both followed fouls on goalkeeper Danny Joyce.

Highmoor twice led through Ian Griffin and Anthony Alleyne, but Letcombe equalised through Paul Jrzzard and Mark Denney.

They took the lead in the 64th minute, Pete Horswell flicking home a cross from Jezzard.

Highmoor drew level five minutes later with a disputed goal. Joyce appeared to be deliberately blocked as he tried to collect the ball, and Devon Reid tapped in.

Despite a lacklustre performance, Headington Amateurs won 2-0 at home to Lydney in Division 1 West.

Liam Morbey rifled Headington into the lead after 35 minutes.

Ten minutes from time, Matt Timmins had an equaliser for Lydney mystifyingly disallowed by the referee.

Headington rubbed salt into the wound five minutes later when substitute Craig Dean turned in Morbey’s cross to seal the points.

A Clanfield side, badly depleted by players with work commitments, lost 1-0 to bottom-of-the-table hosts Trowbridge Town, who recorded their first win of the season.

Trowbridge keeper Sean Bryant made a fine save from Dan Bishop, with debutant Dan Oyston just failing to connect with the rebound.

An injury to Bishop saw more reorganisation in the Clanfield ranks and it came as no surprise when Trowbridge, who had missed a penalty, sealed the points through Jordan Kirk in the 77th minute.

Carterton eased their relegation worries with a 2-1 win over Purton.

During a seven-minute spell midway through the second half , Chris Mills put the Kilkenny Lane outfit in front, Tom Cadden equalised, and Adam Lee hit Carterton’s winner.
