India Weller and Isobel Hobbs, of Abingdon GC, competed with distinction in the British Age Group Championships at Guildford.

Weller, 11, finished tenth overall in the level 2 age group.

Her strongest performance came on the bars where she scored an impressive 12.40.

This places her an amazing fourth on this apparatus in Britain for her age.

Weller will now take her compulsory 2 grading in Rushmoor on November 19, which will qualify her to compete in next year’s Espoir British Championships.

Hobbs was a member of the southern region team that took the national title.

She produced excellent performances on floor and vault.

The nine-year-old’s top score came on the vault with 11.10, which gave her fifth place.

Hobbs, who relished taking home a national gold medal, will be back in action this weekend in the Oxfordshire two-piece competition.
